All new beauty machine, the Jaguar XE is just around the corner to adorn the market in India. The car is expected to make its official debut in the month of November 2015. While the car could arrive carrying a price tag of INR 28-45 lakh.Jaguar, as and when we hear the name, a luxurious and premium car surrounds are mind. While the various offerings from the brand proves that for the brand, with products like the XJ and XF that is present in its portfolio. However the brand is not much of visible in the entry level sports segment in the car that has already been clutched by models like the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class. But the company has decided to work upon something different, with an altogether distinct approach. The brand aims at offering the new Jaguar XE by the mid of the upcoming year 2016.
Lets us get closer to the rest of the details on the car!
Engine and Transmission: The Jaguar XE would be the manufacturer?s primary offering that would be positioned on an all-new aluminium framework and engine in the name of Ingenium that would carry a capacity of 1.8-L to 2.5-L and produce power outputs of 184bhp to 300bhp. RS version in the car would be the top-end model that would be powered by the 3.0-L V6 unit from the F-Type series. This engine line-up has both petrol and diesel units and would be paired to either a six-speed manual or the ZF eight-speed automatic transmission that would direct power to the wheels rolling at the back of the car.
Exterior: While talking about the looks of the all new Jaguar XE, the car looks pretty similar to the XF and the leading XJ. While this is strategy adopted by the various car makers to derive styling and designing cues from its previous existing models. The all new Jaguar XE would acquire a smaller version of the XF?s huge chrome mesh grille embellished with the similar jumping cat. Some of the regular features such as the projector head lamps, LED daytime lights and projector fog lights would e present in this model too, while the fender would continue to appear similar, however it is expected to come with a higher ground clearance.Looking at the side profile of the car, we do not get any of the noticeable changes, from the Jaguar XF, especially talking about the roof line, flared wheels arches and the rake angle of the roof line both at the fore and rear. Though, while the boot carry similar aspects, just like the XF and XJ. Emphasizing on the elements like the tail lamp cluster and chrome strips, it appears to be way too minor and the bumper at the rear is predicted to come looking a bit sportier and would be balanced by dual exhausts.
Inside the Jaguar XE: Whereas owing to the press release, spied pictures, we got to come close to the car?s exterior body. However, the kind of similarity the car carries from its older siblings; we assume the car to be similar inside as well. The complete layout of the car looks quite close to the XF and XJ but keeping the cost factor in mind, the numbers could be dropped in terms of the fabric/Alacantra seats that would shine, and a high quality plastic would substitute for the wooden trims. We expect the infotainment system, climate control and instrumentation to remain similar. We assume that a regular gear lever and set gear selection dial to be fixed inside. The seat at the back would be more than enough to make two people seat comfortably, along with eth transmission tunnel and the AC vents at the back.
Price and competition: We expect the Jaguar XE to carry a price tag in the range of INR 28 lakh to INR 45 lakh and it would launch out in the middle of 2015. Once out and about, it would surely compete with eth current running BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.The brand has not left any stone unturned, basically by organizing the car to be assembled locally within the country, that would surely impact its pricing to be on the lower end and the biggest move is expected to be that Jaguar will locally assemble the car in order to price it wisely and apt for the potential Indian buyers
