Sourh African market gets driver airbag in Datsun

The Indian made Datsun is offering an optional Driver side Airbag, July onwards. The Brand’s global Head Mr. Vincent Cobee confirmed to (wheels24.co.za) that the GO HATCH model selling in South Africa will get an optional driver side airbag starting July 2015. Because the model is currently been sold in South Africa is manufactured at the Oragadam plant in India. It is hopeful to the Indian models to receive the same options around the same time too.

Mr. Max Mosley (Chairman, Global NCAP) sent a letter to Mr. Carlos Ghosn (Chairman Renault-Nissan) regarding the withdrawal of the car due to safety issues. Datsun India announced the optional air bag feature during the launch of the Go+ in January this year, no time frame was given.
It has also been reported that the Indian made Datsun Go will get latest security measures like ABS Brakes and airbag later this year, no specific time frame has been received.
