The new generation Honda City that was out last year has now become the fastest mini sedan in India. It has been able to book 1 lakh units in just 15 months of its launch. According to the company, they have managed to sell a total number of 1,01,299 units of the vehicle since the last January in 2014.

Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Senior Vice President, Marketing & Sales,Honda Cars IndiaLtd said, that this is a very proud moment and thanked all the people involved in the making of the car. With the retention of the traditional set of sedan consumers, the new City would be able to attract a lot of young buyers. Around thirty percent of the young buyer’s buy the City as their first car.
The Honda City has always been one of the best sellers in India, but the sales have gone on a double high right after the second generation machine was launched. The City was the second Honda car in India, after the Amaze, to be powered by the company's all new 1.5- i-DTEC diesel engine. This engine is good for 99bhp and 200Nm.
