Tata cars would now get a Keyless entry system from a German luxury car supplier. The German based mechanical parts supplier, Marquardt, would be supplying the “PASSIVE ENTRY PASSIVE START” to the Tata Motors, as per a report by Financial Express. Initially, Tata Motors latest models would be equipped with the keyless system that is exactly like the current models like Elite i20, Maruti Swift etc.
The new Tata Motors models being a part of the Q3 2016 would have this specification. Each Tata model would consist of this feature along with a key control unit, antenna, door sensor, electronic steering lock and start and stop button from the German Brand. To start with the supplies would come from a plant in China. Marquardt refuses to give out details for this deal.
Tata Motor does not have such features in any of its models. Of course this addition should add another feather to their cap. The Brand is laying out a R&D unit at Pune, and also prospects to make a production plant as well in the future.
Marquardt is a maker of Hi-Tech systems like driver authorization and anti-theft devices for upscale brands like BMW, Audi, Mercedes- Benz, VW and Chrysler. They have worked in some of the Japanese models too.
