As reported, the brand Honda’s new baby in the making Jazz would get a CVT option for its petrol model. The Jazz, which was initially supposed to launch in India in the first quarter of 2015, has been postponed till the mid- month of June or July this year. Talking about the car, getting dressed up for the Indian market, would be powered by a 1.2 L petrol engine and a 1.5L diesel engin, that is also seen on Amaze, Mobilo and the most popular Honda City, churning out 100PS and 200 NM of Force and is adjusted for a higher fuel efficiency on all these models.
However the Petrol engine would be borrowed by Brio and should be good enough for a 88 PS teamed with a 5-speed unit, a CVT gearbox would be on offer as an option. As the reports suggest this CVT option is borrowed from City that is more expensive model. It’s still not confirmed if the CVT Jazz would sport a paddle shifter like the CVT.
Not like the older Jazz which suffered from meager sales in India basically because of its high price tag, the new Jazz is expected to be 90 percent confined in India, with production having already started for exports to South African markets.Once on road, the New Jazz would have a face-off with Fiat Punto Evo, Maruti Swift, Hyundai Elite i20, VW Polo, Tata Bolt. It is expected to be estimated at INR 5-7 lakhs, ex-showroom in the capital, should be seen around and about by June or July 2015.
