Nano Diesel to take some more time with Tata Motors

Tata motors have announced, they would be taking some more time, enhancing the diesel engine, developed for the Tata Nano. For the time being, there are not planning to bring the engine out for sales in the market. Basically the idea behind the delay is to refine and provide better quality to the dynamo, without increasing the price for it.

Tata has been engaged into the concept of this diesel engine for quite some time now. The engine has been borrowed from the brand’s small car, ACE. So indeed there has to be a lot of work required in order to make it fit for a small passenger car.

It has been reported by, Mr. Girish Wagh, Senior Vice President (Programme, Planning & Project Management, Passenger Vehicles), Tata Motors that Nano being an economical car and such enhancement is playing as a test in terms of pricing it.

The dynamo’s NVH levels on this car might not be sanctioned by its buyers. To add on, as per him looking at the recent prices of fuels, Nano diesel could fail as there would not be a lot of difference considering a petrol or diesel car.
