While there is no confirmation received yet, but the AT version of the Mahindra XUV500 is expected to be out today. As AT models are considered as the flavor of the market currently, the homegrown brand Mahindra also wants to offer the comfort AT element in its existing XUV500. While at a press conference the brand has declared the date of the 25th November 2015 for the official release of the AT model of the car. This version would arrive in the market to compete with the latest sensation SUV n the market, being the Hyundai Creta that is available in an AT model, so this with the launch of the XUV500 AT model, the customers would get a choice in the market, while they plan their compact SUV purchase. AT model is nothing new for Mahindra, as they have earlier as well equipped the much acclaimed Scorpio carrying the AT version that was launched earlier this year in the month of July 2015.
Two-Wheel Drive and Four-Wheel Drive models of the Scorpio automatic were offers simultaneously, while both of the models were paired with a six-speed unit that was derived from Drivetrain Systems International of Australia. It still needs to be seen if the six-speed automatic transmission would be equipped in the XUV500. The Scorpio along with the XUV500 are both motorized by the similar 2.2-L mHawk diesel mills while the output is variable. The Scorpio offers a capacity to offer a 120 bhp @ 4,000 rpm along with a torque figure of 280 Nm @ 1,800-2,800 rpm, whereas the XUV500 acquires 140 bhp along with a torque of 330 Nm. The Mahindra XUV500 automatic model is projected to be estimated carrying a price tag of INR 50,000-75,000 above the cost of the car, variant wise, while the makers could hurl the following top-spec, W8 variant carrying AT while being rational at the same time
