Mahindra Vibe diesel is a new segment for SUV maker

Mahindra & Mahindra Motors, largest UV manufacture in India, is soon to unveil sub 4 meter hatchback Mahindra Vibe, thereby foraying into compact car segment. Based on Mahindra Verito sedan, Vibe is scheduled for launch in May 2013 where it will compete with other premium class hatchback cars such as Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai i20 as well as compact sedans.

Spacious hatchback  car will be offered as a Mahindra Vibe diesel hatchback. It carries a spacious boot, despite the fact that it is being presented in sub 4 meter category. Powered by French auto maker Renault’s 1.5 liter K9K diesel engine also seen in Verito Sedan, engine is capable enough of producing 68 PS power and is coupled to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Targeting customers on lookout for power, performance, space and higher level of mileage, Vibe hatchback car is expected to retail competitively at a little below Rs 6 lakhs. With upcoming Vibe, M&M is expecting to draw attention of younger buyer profile while at same time catering to the needs of diesel engine enthusiasts in India.
