Mahindra to back out on Brazil after seven years of association and 4,000 cars already sold. After operating for seven years in a row, the brand’s Brazilian Bramont puts an end on its facilities in the country. It has been reported by Just-Auto sales, that Bramont has been dealing while importing the kits and assembling them and further putting them up for sales in the Latin American nation.

Brazil has indeed become a booming market for the sales, in spite, Mahindra and the Bramont association could only manage to sell out 4,000 units so far in the last 7 years. On the other hand the plant layout was set up in order to produces approx. 5,000 units annually. To start with, M&M offered the Scorpio sporting a 2.6-L Common Rail engine that pulled out 110 hp. The models comprised 4×2 and 4×4 configuration, with an electronic shift on the fly feature. The vehicles primarily conformed to Euro III and since 2009 have conformed to Euro IV.

The process to assemble the kits, and parts was although the main factor, incurring a lot of cost. Also as per the peak the market reached, these products turned out to technically outdated that in turn lowered the sales even more. The Bramont would still continue with the production of tractors in the country though.
