As the reports have been out Hyundai has been dedicated into their new machine that they intend to roll out by 2017. It is indeed a MPV, its launch was reported to take place in the next year, however now it has been speculated to happen in 2017, in our country. We assume the new machine to be based on a Hexaspace concept.
As reported on the Economic Times, the MPV in question is codenamed “IP”. The social carrier would cater to the private customer segment and would face off with the currently in market Honda Mobilo, Maruti Ertiga and Renault Lodgy (launched today). According to the sources the model would be plattered in both petrol and diesel versions, it would be teamed with a manual transmission, however it has been speculated that an AMT also might on offer.Currently Hyundai is focusing on rolling out the ix25, their compact SUV, in 2015.
The service vehicles segment in India reports for 21 percent of the overall market, and at the moment, Hyundai is a bit atypical in this segment (the brand sells the Santa Fe in the premium SUV segment). The Korean car manufacturer would increase its focus in the UV segment with the launch of the ix25 compact SUV (expected to launch in the festive season this year) and the ‘IP’ MPV in 2017, estimated at INR 7-11 lakhs, ex-Showroom.
