Honda plans an expanse in India for its cars and scooters both

It has been announced by the Brand, to expand its capacity for producing both the scooters and cars. Both the items acquire heavy investments. The Japanese car and two-wheeler Brand, Honda declared that it would expand its capacity in the manufacturing plants based in India. Honda invests INR 380Cr in their second plant in Rajasthan. This plant is based in Tapukara in Rajasthan. The production of the machines, on an annual count, has to go up to 180,000 units by the mid of 2016. Currently the plant is able to pull out 120,000 units. Once the capacity would be expanded, around 600 jobs also would be rolled put.

Once this expansion takes place, the annual production from the Brand within India would come up to 300,000 units. Currently India is consuming around 240,000 units within an annual calendar. The Tapukara plant is currently engaged in making Honda Amaze and Honda city, on the Greater Noida plant makes the brio and the Mobilio and also assembles CR-V from CKD kits. 

 

The Brand will also expand their plant in Narasapura,Karnataka. This is their 3rd location. This plant that has an annual production capacity of 1.8 million units would be larger now while pulling out 600,000 more units by the end of the year 2016. All the plants together, would churn out a large 6.4 million units, exclusively for the Indian market. The investment sums up at INR 5.8 billion (INR 580 Cr).
