One of the leading auto giants, Honda Motors is recalling around 205,000 cars to replace shift interlock in 2012 and 2013 Honda CR-V, 2012 and 2013 Honda Odyssey and 2013 Acura RDX.

Affecting around 128,000 CR-Vs, 59,000 Odysseys and 17,500 RDXs, effective instantly company is reeling models back in because interlock could falter, allowing vehicles to be shifted out of Park without depressing brake pedal. It has been federally mandated that a car not shifting out of Park without using brake pedal for decades now. Honda Motors says no automobiles have rolled away or driven off accidentally as this issue was found during an internal quality check by Honda. Notifications for drivers of affected Acura RDX, Honda CR-V and Honda Odyssey cars will be sent via snail mail in mid-May. Drivers will be able to take their cars into local Honda dealers and have shift interlocks fixed or replaced free of charge.
