The recently launched Honda Amaze, first diesel car of Honda, is having great demand in the country. The Amaze was launched in both-petrol engine for Rs 4.99 lakh and in diesel engine for Rs 5.99 lakh, this April. This is outstanding if compared to the total production of Honda India, which are 1000 units per month.
Amaze have already took 60% of production in Honda plant in Greater Noida, but still the increasing demand of customers is increasing the waiting time. To complete the demands, Honda has planned to start third shift in their plant, from November. Along with this, the company will start car production at their plant in Tapukara, Rajasthan by 2014. This will increase Honda’s total output from 1000 units to 2000 units per month.
Besides this, Honda India is also expected to launch new cars. The new launches include Brio based MPV, new Jazz and new City. All these will be offered in both petrol and diesel engines in India. After all these launches, no wonder 20K/month capacity might go short.
