Datsun Go machine goes stronger
Nissan is about to start with the production of the top-end model of its Datsun Go at the Oragada plant in the next month. The car would be exported to the country from India.
As reported by Autocar professional, the new Datsun Go, is going through a manufacture change over, being made with a stronger body, an ABS and an Airbag. Nissan is about to start with the production of the top-end model of its Datsun Go at the Oragada plant in the next month. The talked about model of the car is supposed to have a incorporate a driver airbag, that is not present in the current segment. The new model is also reported to have side beams apart from the airbag and the ABS.
The news is that the product will be up for sales in the South African market July onwards. The car would be exported to the country from India.Where in the Driver Airbag feature is already present in the Go+ that was launched in India in January, the previous model did nt have this feature before. The Go hatchback was in headlines due to its weak structure as reported by Global NCAP testing. IT has been stated by them, that adding an airbag, would help a little to enhance the zero safety rating for the car.
There was another report post the above rating, by the Economic Times, that the engineers are working on the problem and they have enhanced the safety of the car with adding stronger steel on its base and side beams. As per the reports, the metal now used in the manufacture has a good capacity strength of 520 MPa (mega Pascal) that is way too better than 320MPa that was previously used. Further the side beams have been added, in order to further enhance the safety on the product.
The new layout would appear for the Global NCAP, soon, as per sources. However there hasn’t been any comments from Nissan regarding the same. As per Mr. David Ward, secretary general of Global NCAP quoted that they have had an important discussion with the Brand and they are working on the safety improvements on the product.
